Why CoreConnect?
Over 30,000 people in our region do not have adequate access to internet. CoreConnect will offer high-speed internet access to rural communities currently under-served or unserved by existing ISPs.
Opportunity
The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority has opened a funding program that will distribute $1.16 billion across the Commonwealth to build broadband infrastructure to these un/underserved areas.
Goal
CoreConnect intends to make sure every resident in our northwestern Pennsylvania community will have access to affordable high-speed internet by building an open access broadband network.
CoreConnect Community Broadband
CoreConnect is a community-based coalition non-profit. We intend to deploy a regional Open Access Network (OAN) across each county in Northwest PA.
We plan to build our community Open Access Network (OAN) through a combination of federal funding administered through the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority and revenue bonding.
